Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Includes Dust Jacket. Brown, Marcia (illustrateur). First Edition; "A" Present. A signed, first printing copy of this scarce Caldecott classic. Lovely! The pages are as clean and bright and crisp as a brand-new book, absolutely beautiful. Pink cloth book has a bit of wear to the top and bottom of spine, a vintage book plate on the inside cover, and the words "Caldecott Award 1955" printed neatly alongside it (by the previous owner), else this is FINE. Jacket is about Near Very Good; it has some tears, but is clean and bright and presents nicely. Original price, correct for a first, is intact on flap. Back flap lists seven books, also correct for a first printing. Medal sticker is present on front panel. And this copy is signed by Marcia Brown on the blank page opposite the title page of the book--not inscribed to anyone, just her signature. Brown has won three Caldecott medals, but this was her first. And this is one of the most difficult to find of all the Caldecott Medal winners. Please see photos. Signed by Author/Illustrator.

Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. First edition. Small 4to. Unpaginated. Pink cloth with gold lettering and a gold decoration (Cinderella's carriage) on the front board, gold lettering on the spine. Pictorial endpapers and pastedowns. Price of $2.00 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with striking, colorful drawings by Marcia Brown. Signed by Marcia Brown without personalization on the verso of the free front endpaper. Translated by Marcia Brown. A free translation from the French of Charles Perrault. A Caldecott Medal sticker has been applied by a collector on the jacket's front panel. Baumgarten 172. A stunning publication of a classic fairy tale, with vibrant pink and gold hues brilliantly displaying the story of the young woman who went from an abused stepdaughter to a generous, graceful princess with the help of her fairy godmother and a magical slipper. A small spot of rubbing on the spine and a minute tear to the bottom left corner of the free front endpaper; jacket with two small chips and a large tear to the front fold, but the jacket presents beautifully in its protective mylar.
