Biographie de l'auteur :

Gordon Martel is Emeritus Professor of History at theUniversity of Northern British Columbia, Canada, and AdjunctProfessor at the University of Victoria, Canada. He has writtenwidely on the history of modern war. Among his best–known books areImperial Diplomacy (1985) and The Origins of the FirstWorld War (revised 3rd edition, 2008). He has editednumerous scholarly publications, including The World War TwoReader (2004), A Companion to Europe,1900 1945 (Blackwell, 2006), A Companion toInternational History, 1900 2001 (Blackwell, 2007), andThe Encyclopedia of War (five volumes, Wiley–Blackwell,2012). His most recent work is The Month That Changed the World:July 1914 (2014).
